You'll enter the Challenge Rift on whatever level you're currently on, and then defeat Chaos Herald Pyl the way you would a mini-boss at the end of the rift. This is the only raid that differs from the rest, as it's played as a solo raid and not entered through the Demon Portal.
Progressing through the objectives of this quest will naturally begin your first Helliquary raid, though initially, you'll have to go into the Challenge Rifts to find your target - Chaos Herald Pyl. This will begin a questline for him that will have you open the portal to the Helliquary and see a vision of Westmarch overrun by demons. When the feature becomes available, talk to Deckard Cain and meet Rayek in his workshop. The Demonic Portal to the Helliquary Raids can be unlocked when you reach level 36.
